2. Les chiffres et une chanson: Students reviewed numbers 0-69 with a partner or two while we listened to a song in French. After the quick review, we practiced the numbers together focusing on the ones that most students find difficult: 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60
If you are struggling, please find a youtube video to practice with. Here are some: 1-20, 20-50, 60-70. There are many more.
We practiced with some mathematics problems:
3. L'heure: We reviewed telling time. We clarified the confusion from yesterday and fixed our notes to make them clearer. I shared a way to write your notes so that you can practice and quiz yourself with them later. We added to our notes as well: quarter past, half past, quarter to/til; # to/til (10 to 5, 20 til 6, etc.), noon, midnight.
4. Au café: We quickly reviewed our café polite language. We added the question: Vous désirez? which is what a server is likely to ask.
5. Les adjectifs et les descriptions: We began working on language needed for describing the important people in our lives, friends and family. We learned that adjectives have a feminine form and a masculine form depending on who they are describing. Regular adjectives follow the pattern of adding an -e to the end to make it feminine (for pronunciation this usually means that the last consonant isn't pronounced in the masculine form, but after you add the -e it is pronounced). We also learned that there are some IRREGULAR adjectives. This means they don't follow the simple pattern; there's some sort of weird form. (ex. roux-rousse = red-headed)
6. Closing: We reviewed several concepts from class focusing mostly on numbers.
