1. Clochette: Students viewed 4 pictures of individual presidential candidates. They tried to use as many sentences to describe each person as they could. We looked at students' work on the board and fixed any errors. Then we had a discussion in French describing the candidates with adjectives we know already. Then, we followed up in English with a quick discussion about the American presidential election process.
2. Les familles: We saw a series of family pictures. We discussed them in French to practice our adjectives and family vocabulary. Individual students were selected to go to the board to answer questions by pointing to the different people. This is receptive practice since students are just learning family member words. This means they are working on comprehending the words before learning/practicing how to produce them. Afterward, we filled in our vocabulary sheet with the family words. We also put in the words that mean "your" on the grammar side.
3. L'histoire: Students worked in groups of 3 to continue reading our story started yesterday about Lucie, the cat with no family (finish the first page).Students were to try understanding without using any dictionaries and only context. Any words not known were circled and students tried to use context to figure out meaning.
