Groups finalized their research plans for their chosen holiday. If you were absent be sure to meet with your to find out what you are in charge of doing and when you need to do it. See the info here for more specifics about requirements for the project.
Project Dates:
12/8, 12/10, 12/11 - Lab days; 45 minutes each day
12/5, 12/9, 12/12 - Class days; 30-40 minutes group time in class (no lab)
12/10 - Song link and lyrics; emailed to Monsieur Jadlocki
12/12 - Powerpoint submitted to Monsieur Jadlocki before or in class; must be complete
- Posters should be completed today as well
12/12 - Groups present songs to class
12/15 - Posters are finished and ready to be posted in classroom
- Groups present powerpoint.
- Class has a celebration of learning
- Class enjoys the presentations and learns about the other holidays/celebrations of other groups
Elements of the project:
Images with captions in French (see pp. 376-381 for examples
Can be drawings or printed images
Paragraph length descriptions of traditions, significance, etc.
Along with paragraphs can be charts, tables, etc. to show facts, statistics, and/or comparisons
whole group shares in presenting the overview
submit by 12/12 to ensure it is working and ready to go for Monday
the song should be in French
submit lyrics and link to song electronically by 12/10
present songs in class on 12/12
2) Celebration Vocabulary
While we are working on our projects related to the culture of celebrations and holidays, we need to also continue learning French language. Here are some structures we worked on today:
avoir lieu - to take place
a eu lieu - took place
m'a offert un cadeau - gave me a gift
3) Chanson avec les verbes au future
We used the lyrics of a new song to identify the verbs in future tense. Then we watched the video and listened to the music. See file below for lyrics. Click link for song/video.
